Miami Valley Youth Career Services

Mission Statement

The mission of Miami Valley Youth Career Services is “To utilize high quality staff to provide the highest quality of service with proven models which enhance the potential of young people to be successful in school, at home, in the workplace and in the community.”

Background

JOG-Miami Valley, doing business as Miami Valley Youth Career Services (MVYCS), is a 501(c)(3)non-profit organization that is an affiliate of Jobs for Cincinnati Graduates, and Jobs for Ohio's Graduates (JOG). Both programs utilize the Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) comprehensive School-to-Careers transition model, the largest and longest-running program of its kind. JAG programs provide youth with guidance and support through graduation and into entry-level employment with advancement potential or into full-time college or training, in order to assist them to become self-sufficient, productive adults.

History

The Jobs for Graduates program services are not new to the community. Since 1986, over 11,000 Miami Valley youth have been served. Miami Valley Youth Career Services was designated as the Jobs for Ohio's Graduates affiliate to provide services for the greater Dayton area in August 2003.

Target Population

Residents of the Miami Valley in Montgomery, Miami, and Warren counties; ages 14-21,

with a focus on those who are at-risk of failure in school, at home, or in the work world.
